Public transport is quite good in Edinburgh, it is mainly a bus service which stretches across the city. The city is walkable, but quite hilly, so we recommend comfortable shoes.
You can use the following link to find out which bus is best to take from your hotel, hostel or B’n’B to both IASH and Edinburgh College of Art. All you need to do is enter the post code for your accommodation and the post code for the destination and it will give you the most efficient route.

If you are staying in the Haymarket, Southbridge or Bruntsfield areas, the University is walkable within 20-25 mins. These areas are largely flat and easily walkable.
Getting from the airport
You can take either the Service 100 – AirLink bus which is very frequent and gets you into the city quite quickly. An open return for the bus costs 7.50 GBP. Here’s a link to the service’s timetable: https://lothianbuses.co.uk/timetables-and-maps/timetables/100.
You can also take the tram directly from the airport terminus to the city centre. An open return on the tram costs 8.50 GBP and runs at regular intervals. Follow the link for the Journey Planner: https://edinburghtrams.com/plan-a-journey/journey-planner.
